At Yogi’s Cooking we believe that food is medicine–and what you put in your body is what you will get out. Many diseases would not exist if people made healthier choices in their diet! We are passionate about educating people about health, wellness and how their choices effect themselves and the planet at large. Many of the spices that we use have medicinal properties and multiple health benefits. For centuries Ayurveda has been ridding pain and disease by using the many Indian spices that we use at Yogi’s Cooking.

Beans:

Cinnamon :

Cumin:

Cardamom:

Black Pepper:

Ginger:

Red Chili pepper :

Fennel Seed:

Amchur (Mango) Powder :

rich source of vitamin A (beta-carotene), E and Selenium which help to protect against heart disease and other ailments, combats acidify in stomach, promotes healthy digestion, antioxidant

Paprika:

antibacterial agent and stimulant, helps normalize blood pressure, improves circulation, aids in digestion, high in Vitamin C

Sea Salt:

alkalizing, supports weight loss,helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels, supports immune function.

Garlic:

supports heart health, antibacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, lowers cholesterol, natural antibiotic

Jaggery:
 unrefined brown sugar made from palm sap. coconut palm or date palm. This sugar is low glycemic good for people with diabetes and high blood pressure as a sweet alternative to sugar, healing for sore throats, strengthens the lungs. High in calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium.
Agave Nectar:
Natural sweetener made from succulents similar to that of cactus. The carbohydrate in agave nectar has a low glycemic index, which provides sweetness without the unpleasant “sugar rush” and unhealthful blood sugar spike caused by many other sugars

There is some merit to the old saying, “eat your carrots or you’ll go blind.” Carrots are an excellent source of beta-carotene and problems with the eyes are one symptom of a deficiency of beta-carotene. However, there are other sources of beta-carotene that offer a sufficient source of nutrients. It shouldn’t surprise you that vegetables and fruits are your best source of beta-carotene.-
